About the Association
The Calgary Suzuki Strings Association held its first meeting on May 17th, 1999
The Executive Committee, all volunteer members, meets monthly to arrange events to benefit students, parents, teachers and non-members interested in learning more about the Suzuki Method and its availability in Calgary.
In addition, the CSSA publishes a newsletter, "The Suzuki Quarternote", and provides this website to inform, educate, and celebrate the Suzuki Method.
Our Mission
- To promote Suzuki teaching, training, and education of teachers, parents, students, and the general public.
- To encourage the highest standards of excellence in teaching and playing.
- To facilitate communications between teachers and in turn foster good relations and exchange of information in the
Suzuki community.
- To foster appreciation in the general public of classical music, string playing, and the Suzuki philosophy as it
applies to these disciplines.
- To co-ordinate, support and publicize Suzuki events.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering with the Calgary Suzuki String Association is an opportunity to meet and interact with new people, develop your skills, and enjoy the rewarding experience of aiding in the children's musical development. To ensure the continued success of CSSA programs, we need you to nurture our fast-growing and very dynamic Association.
