Dear Suzuki Students and Teachers of Calgary:
Come join us on January 28th for a morning filled with fun, learning and beautiful music. Featuring masterclasses taught by former concertmaster of the CPO Cenek Vrba, John Lowry associate concertmaster of the CPO, and Guitar Clinician Murray Visscher.
WORKSHOP ACTIVITIES BY GROUP
GROUP A: Ages 12 and under.
Activities include:
- Group class for Violin, Viola and Guitar. Cello will be either a group or Master class depending on enrolment.
- One enrichment class: Kodaly or Zumba.
- Special concert with guest artist Cenek J. Vrba.
Pre-requisites:
- Violin: Pre-Twinkle up to and including Concerto in A Minor, Op.3, No.6, 1st Mvt in Book 4.
- Viola: Pre-Twinkle up to but not including Teleman Concerto.
- Cello: Up to Mid-Book 4.
- Guitar : Students not playing Vivaldi Concerto from Book 7.
GROUP B: Teens (ages 12 and up) and Advanced non-teens may participate if below pre-requisites are met.
Teen Social and some masterclasses will be taking place in the afternoon on Friday January 27th at the following location:
202 Crescent Rd. N.W. (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Crescent Rd. Chapel)
Activities include:
- Masterclass
- Teen Social/ Option class for non-teens.
- Participation in concert or option class for teen participants who do not meet the requirements below.
Non-Teen prerequisites:
- Violin: Students who can play the Vivaldi A minor concerto, 3rd movement from Book 4 and up.
- Viola: Teleman Concerto and Up.
- Cello: Mid-Book 4 and up.
- Guitar: Students playing Vivaldi Concerto from Book 7.
NOTE: All instruments may choose a Non-Suzuki piece for their Master Class.
REHEARSALS
*NOTE: The rehearsals are NOT at the same location as the workshop on January 28th.
