Dear Suzuki Students and Teachers of Calgary:

Come join us on January 28th for a morning filled with fun, learning and beautiful music. Featuring masterclasses taught by former concertmaster of the CPO Cenek Vrba, John Lowry associate concertmaster of the CPO, and Guitar Clinician Murray Visscher.

John Lowry is the associate Concertmaster of the CPO. He has appeared as a soloist with a number of orchestras across Canada. He is a founding member of Calgary’s Land’s End Chamber Ensemble, specializing in 20th and 21st century music. He performs with a Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi violin, made in Milan in 1769, and also a violin made by Christopher Sandvoss in 2005.

Cenek J. Vrba is recognized as one of Canada’s foremost violinists. He has performed as soloist and concertmaster with orchestras on three continents and in Europe in the major concert halls of Berlin, Vienna, Madrid, Prague, Paris London and Amsterdam. His students are heard on concert stages in many parts of the world. He has two grandsons Keali’i (4) and Kahea (2) who live in the beautiful Hawaii. He loves to visit with them, especially during the winter months.

Mr Visscher comes highly recommended by Calgary’s Suzuki guitar teachers. He is in demand as a performer and educator and is currently on the faculty at Mount Royal College Conservatory. Murray has also served as a faculty member at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, the Nanaimo Conservatory and Okanagan College.
